Gorilla Pulse Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 12, 2026

Gorilla Pulse is a mobile app and WordPress plugin made by Gorilla Public (Murphys, California) that lets WooCommerce store owners see their own store’s performance on their phone. This policy explains what information Gorilla Pulse handles, where it goes, and what we never do with it. The short version: your store’s data stays yours. The app reads it from your own website, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to track you.

What the app collects and why

Your store’s business data

When you pair the Gorilla Pulse app with your store, the app requests sales information — revenue, order counts, product names, stock levels, and marketing attribution — directly from the Gorilla Pulse plugin running on your own website. This data is displayed in the app and is not copied to servers we control, with one exception described under “AI features” below. We never see your customers’ names, emails, addresses, or payment details; the plugin does not transmit them.

Pairing credentials

Pairing creates a secret key that authorizes your device to read your store’s data. The app stores this key in your device’s secure keychain. You can revoke any device’s key at any time from the plugin settings in WordPress, and unpairing in the app deletes the key from your device.

Push notifications

If you turn on sale or support notifications, the app registers an anonymous push token with your own store’s plugin. Notifications are delivered through Apple and Expo’s push services. Turning notifications off, or unpairing, stops this.

AI features

The daily recap and the Ask feature send a snapshot of your store’s recent statistics (totals, channel figures, product names — never customer personal information) from your store to our server at gorillapublic.com, which forwards it to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the response. This happens only when a recap is generated (once per day) or when you ask a question. We meter how many AI requests each license uses; we do not store the content of your questions or your store snapshots beyond what is needed to deliver the answer. AI inputs and outputs are processed under Anthropic’s commercial terms and are not used to train AI models.

Licensing and purchases

Pulse Pro licenses are sold through SureCart on gorillapublic.com. When your plugin activates or validates a license, the license key and your site URL are checked against SureCart’s licensing service. Payment details are handled entirely by SureCart and its payment processors; we never see or store card numbers.

Support messages

If you contact us through the in-app Support feature, your messages and your store’s web address are stored on gorillapublic.com so we can reply. That’s the point of the feature, and that’s all it’s used for.

The plugin’s visitor cookie (for store owners)

The Gorilla Pulse plugin can set a single first-party cookie (gp_utm, 30-day lifespan) on your store’s visitors to record which marketing campaign brought them to you. This information stays in your store’s own database, attached to orders. It is your data about your visitors; we never receive it. The feature can be switched off in the plugin settings, and as the store owner you are responsible for reflecting this first-party analytics cookie in your own store’s privacy policy where required.

What we don’t do

No advertising, no ad SDKs, no third-party analytics trackers in the app, no selling or sharing data with data brokers, and no tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites. The app contains no social logins and requires no account.

Data retention and deletion

Unpairing the app deletes its stored credentials from your device. Deactivating and deleting the plugin removes the plugin’s settings, keys, and stored summaries from your website’s database. Support conversations and license/metering records on gorillapublic.com are retained while you have a relationship with us; email us to have them removed. Historical attribution data stamped on your own store’s orders belongs to your store and remains under your control.

Children

Gorilla Pulse is a business tool intended for store owners and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. Meaningful changes will be noted in plugin or app release notes.
